چکیده

In this paper we present several set of solutions static and spherically symmetric solitonic boson stars. Each is characterized by the value {\sigma} that defines potential in complex scalar field theory. The main features peculiar to occur for small values {\sigma}, but which equations become so stiff as pose numerical challenges. Without making approximations build sets decreasing show how they change their behavior parameter space, giving special attention region where thin-wall configurations dwell. validity approximation explored well possibility solution being discontinuous. We investigate five different possible definitions a radius stars employ them calculate compactness each order assess outcomes might be.

A Numerical Study of Solitonic Boson Stars in General Relativity

In the wake of the recent detection of gravitational wave signal GW150914, we investigate whether GW150914 could have been produced by something other than a binary black hole system. Our proposed candidate is a binary system of solitonic boson stars. The choice of solitonic boson stars is due mainly to the structural properties of their ground states, as solitonic boson stars are capable of fo...

Beyond the thin-wall approximation : precise numerical computation of prefactors in false vacuum decay

Abstract We present a general numerical method for computing precisely the false vacuum decay rate, including the prefactor due to quantum fluctuations about the classical bounce solution, in a selfinteracting scalar field theory modeling the process of nucleation in four dimensional spacetime. This technique does not rely on the thin-wall approximation. The method is based on the GelfandYaglom...

Boson-fermion Model beyond Mean-field Approximation

A model of hybridized bosons and fermions is studied beyond the mean field approximation. The divergent boson self-energy at zero temperature makes the Cooper pairing of fermions impossible. The frequency and momentum dependence of the self-energy and the condensation temperature T c of initially localized bosons are calculated analytically. The value of the boson condensation temperature T c i...

Analytical Calculation of the Nucleation Rate for First Order Phase Transitions beyond the Thin Wall Approximation

First order phase transitions in general proceed via nucleation of bubbles. A theoretical basis for the calculation of the nucleation rate is given by the homogeneous nucleation theory of Langer and its field theoretical version of Callan and Coleman. We have calculated the nucleation rate beyond the thin wall approximation by expanding the bubble solution and the fluctuation determinant in pow...
